Role: User Experience Researcher

Location: Korea

Onsite Working Schedule: Hybrid

We follow a simple but vital premise in the User Experience group: Focus on the user and all else will follow. We're passionately interested in our users and strive to learn everything we can about their goals and needs, attitudes and emotions to help define the products and experiences we create. The User Experience team is a critical driving force behind gathering these insights and then using them to inspire and inform design. We are a multi-disciplinary team of interaction designers, visual designers, user researchers, copywriters and web developers who collaborate closely with each other and with Engineering and Product Management to create innovative, usable, great-looking products that people love to use. As a UX researcher, you'll have the opportunity to support our research activities in developing innovative, user-friendly, best-of-breed products. We are looking for individuals who have excellent communication skills, are diligent, detail-oriented, and can work fairly independently.

- Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research

- Evangelize research findings to diverse audiences through written reports and oral presentations

- Assist with user testing preparation activities

- Partner with other UX researchers on the YouTube team

- Observe/run/plan usability testing sessions, and take notes (Remotely or from the Seoul office)

- Administer questionnaires, surveys, and interviews

- Analyze and interpret both qualitative and quantitative data

- Communicate findings and recommendation reports from user studies

- Create highlight videos/screenshots

Top 3 weekly responsibilities:

- Conduct independent fast-paced research on multiple aspects of how users engage with YouTube products. Methods include usability testing and occasionally other qualitative methods, benchmark studies, or surveys.

- Work on a project from start to finish (creating a study plan, executing project, analysis, creating and presenting report)

- Work with designers, product managers, engineers and research managers to prioritize research opportunities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.

Usability test를 독립적으로 수행 가능한 분을 채용 중에 있습니다.

- Fluency in written and spoken Korean and English

- Familiarity with usability testing (the method, how to plan, execute, and analyze, its pros/cons)

- Can work independently and prioritize time between multiple projects, and be flexible by adapting to changing schedules and different project; Must be able to accommodate early morning meeting

- The ability to operate in a very fastpaced environment

- Detail-oriented and ability to work independently on a variety of tasks

- Interest in general research and/or user research methods

- A deep desire to apply design toward expanding what's possible and improving the world

- Excellent observation and note-taking skills

- Strong oral and written communication skills

- Excellent leadership, communication and teamwork skills

- B.A./B.S. (in progress or completed) in Technical Communication, Cognitive Psychology, HCI/Computer Science, or other field emphasizing human behavior

- 1 year of general research experience (time in school is applicable)
